Turtle Island Staffing (TIS) is an Indigenous-owned Canadian recruitment agency founded in 2006 to create meaningful career opportunities for Indigenous professionals and support organizations in building inclusive, high-performing teams.

When I founded this agency, my goal was to support Indigenous professionals in building strong, fulfilling careers and show that recruitment can be a tool for positive change. We built TIS around people, relationships, and the belief that meaningful work can benefit individuals and the organizations they’re part of.
With more than 25 years in the recruitment industry, I’ve seen the hiring landscape shift in countless ways. But one truth remains: strong connections change everything for candidates, employers, and the communities around them. That belief is what led to the creation of TIS in 2006, and it continues to guide every decision we make.
